Happy National Hamburger Day
There is a reason over 70% of all beef consumed in restaurants is in the form of a hamburger. It’s because hamburgers are great and are easy to consume without forks and knives. No wonder the Hamburger is one the most popular derivatives of the sandwich (about 60% of sandwiches are burgers). In the spirit of National Hamburger Day, we wanted to share one of the unique burgers we’ve come across.
Burger With Crispy Salami and Sun-Dried Tomato
How to prepare:
Step 1
Preheat oven to 400° F. Place the salami in a single layer on a rimmed baking sheet and bake 8 to 10 minutes until crisp. Let it cool.
Step 2
Bring your grill up to medium-high. Create four ¾-inch-thick patties. Use your fingers to make a shallow well in the top of each patty. (This will prevent over plumping during cooking.) Season each burger with ½ teaspoon of salt and pepper.
Step 3
Start cooking the hamburger patties with the wells facing up for 4 to 5 minutes. Flip and cook 4 to 5 minutes more until an instant-read thermometer inserted in the center registers 155° F for medium. Top the burgers with the mozzarella during the last 3 minutes of cooking. Spread the rolls with the tomato pesto (yummy!). Form sandwiches with the rolls, burgers, salami, and arugula.
